We have a Stratasys 768BST commercial 3D printer. This allows us to quickly develop plastic parts that have dimensions within 8x8x8 inches. The printer prints in ABS plastic. We can also acetone-vapor polish the finished parts, as well as paint and finish for high quality demonstration models.
We use a Full Spectrum 90W laser cutter for our non-contoured parts. Acrylic is one of our favorite materials to cut, but we can also cut other plastics. Laser etching is also possible.
For prototyping with more durable materials, we have a KX3 CNC Mill. This allows us to mill 3D contours into most metals.
For the fastest development of simple designs, we have the capability to etch our own PCBs. In one day, we can do schematic design, board layout, etch, assembly, and test. This kind of capability is almost unprecedented in the industry. The PCB is typically limited to single sided, 6"x6", but the number of quick designs that can be accomplished with these limitations is huge. For example, one of our clients had an application that required sensing motion using an optical mouse sensor, and sending the data over UART to custom hardware. We were able to design, layout, etch, assemble, and program the MCU in one day, in time to meet the FedEx overnight shipping deadline.
Commercial PCB assembly, even for prototypes, takes time. Typical turnaround is 2 weeks, after PCB fabrication is complete. If you have a tight schedule, 2 weeks is an eternity. Realizing this, we have the capability to do small-run assembly. Typically, a paste mask is laser cut from polyimide. A small team then manually places the components from prepared bins. The boards are then placed into a reflow oven for full board soldering. This process typically takes less than 1 day.
Haman Engineering has a vinyl plotter to allow custom labels to be created.
A client approached Haman Engineering to create a custom gas delivery fixture for laboratory study.
Part of this design was a custom applicator. This was completely manufactured and assembled in-house in 1 day.
